Excessive Sweating And It's Causes

excessive sweating or hyperhidrosis has many causes. There are actually two kinds of excessive sweating conditions, namely generalized hyperhidrosis and focal hyperdydrosis. Both conditions focus on the excess sweating symptoms that occur in some people. What causes excessive sweating is brought up in both categories of hyperhidrosis.


If you suspect that you may be suffering from excessive sweating and it is not natural, you might want to seek professional help for proper diagnosis. There are many different types of treatment available for the different conditions with excessive sweating as one of the symptoms.

Generalized Hyperhidrosis

Just like focal hyperhydrosis, there are several factors that cause excessive sweating in generalized hyperhidrosis. Excessive sweating in generalized hyperhydrosis can be caused by cancer, obesity, endocrinological disorders, febrile illnesses, and many others. Unfortunately, hyperhidrosis can affect a person anywhere on their body. Stress and other psychological disorders contribute to generalized hyperhidrosis as well.

Focal Hyperhidrosis

This type of condition has the sufferer sweating in

specific areas of the body such as the head, the feet and armpits. What causes excessive sweating in most focal hyperhidrosis cases is partly genetic. There are also many disorders that can be the factors to excessive sweating focused on a particular part of the anatomy. One such example is Frey's Syndrome where on each side of the face will excessively sweat after or during eating.

Excessive sweating is simply a symptom, what causes it is the actual problem. Besides natural causes, diseases and disorders cause excessive sweating. Hormonal fluctuations and psychological disorders that pertain to anxiety and phobias are known to cause excessive sweating.

High temperatures, thick clothing, exertion, certain foods and numerous other things are natural factors that could cause excessive sweating. These factors can easily be controlled to fit the person. A person can cure excess perspiration unless the cause is a medical condition which renders it irreversible.

What causes excessive sweating can easily be solved as long as you have an idea of what it is. Doctors are readily available to test you and your blood to see what conditions trigger excessive sweating.
